Bambu Indah Treehouse, designed by IBUKU in Bali, is an eco-resort showcasing innovative bamboo architecture. Built among three interconnected trees high in the jungle canopy, the structure forms a large basket-like enclosure where the floor seamlessly transitions into sloping walls. A lightweight roof with skylights enhances natural lighting while offering a 180-degree view of the surrounding terraced landscape of the Sayan Ridge. The interior, designed by IBUKU, integrates luxury with the adventurous essence of the structure, reflecting the eco-resorts pioneering approach to sustainable, nature-immersed living.
Bambu Indah, recognized as one of the world’s first eco-resorts, continues to stand out for its exceptional approach to creating jungle retreats. The resort showcases various Bamboo Pure structures, including the renowned Riverbend House and the iconic Moon House. In 2020, an entirely bamboo treehouse was completed, connecting three massive trees. Constructing this treehouse was an enjoyable yet challenging endeavor, as all work was carried out high above the ground within the tree canopies.
The structure resembles a massive basket, with the floor curving upward to form sloping walls that enclose the interior. A lightweight roof wraps around the three trees, incorporating skylights to bring natural light into the space.
The completed treehouse offers a sweeping 180-degree view of the Bambu Indah resort, situated within the terraced landscapes of the Sayan Ridge. Following the structure’s construction, IBUKU designed the interior, seamlessly blending it into the treehouse to enhance its luxurious and adventurous appeal.
