Located in Huaykwang district of Bangkok, this house was implied by the owner to create a sense of “Living in a storage” The main component is the steel structure of the house. The house is represented forthrightly through the details of material within space and form. Living in this house provides the owner to feel as close to living in the library and a shed.
Tinman house is consisted by three-storey with full-usage of construction area of the land. In each level of the house came from the owner’s brief, starting from the first floor will be the carport in the front zone, leveling up to the upward one-meter level will be the space for all common function such as living area, dining area, kitchen, and a home theatre room.
Continuing up through the second floor, where the semi-private zone is located. On this floor is represented as the highlight of the house which includes the owner’s library and his study room. Owing to the owner’s main activity, he spends most of the time working on his research, so we attend to design this library as the center of the house.
The library connects to the upper master bedroom on the third floor with a spiral stairs case. Through the double space will be a transparent high wall of book shelves then transform into a wardrobe on the upper level, in the master bedroom’s walk-in closet area. On the third floor also includes two more children bedrooms.
With the roof structure lift up and detached out of the main structure. It provide an extend space for a nice roof deck for the family to come up and relax during their leisure time.
