Tini Menorca, a temporary hillside residence in Menorca designed by delavegacanolasso, balances rapid installation with low environmental impact using pre-finished industrialized modules arranged to optimize light and views. Completed in 2022, the configuration integrates existing trees, shading features like a reed pergola, and allows exterior pathways to enhance contact with nature.

Positioned atop a hillside and surrounded by pine trees and Menorcan ullastres, this temporary house represents the initial phase of a broader project.

Natural light is crucial in our projects, shaping both the atmosphere and functionality of the space. We strategically position openings and use transparent materials to enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor environments, creating a more dynamic user experience.

To facilitate rapid enjoyment of the landscape with minimal impact, the design uses fully industrialized modules delivered pre-finished. The site’s natural beauty inspired an unconventional layout with exterior pathways and access walkways, promoting close interaction with the surroundings and avoiding the need for on-site assembly work.

The configuration separates functions according to privacy levels while optimizing orientation for each space. Modules measuring 3 x 9.8 meters are arranged in a T-shape, with the communal areas—living, dining, and kitchen—facing south and overlooking the sea. Meanwhile, the bedrooms are oriented eastward to capture soft morning light. This arrangement preserves existing trees, integrating them into the access routes.

Given the Mediterranean climate, the design emphasizes shaded, cool areas through features like a reed pergola and string curtains that sway with the northern wind, providing shelter from the sun.
