The Spherifications Installation project by Conjuntos Empáticos, presented at Plaza de Carmelita in Altea during La Nit de l’Art Festival 2022, uses reflective textures to foster social interactions within urban spaces. Designed for sitting, observing, or play, it encourages coexistence among species. Its cloverleaf form, made from lightweight materials and inflated by industrial fans, enhances movement and engagement with the environment.
The prototypes of urban spherifications were conceived as a spatial technique leveraging contemporary elements to foster social dynamics that engage with their surroundings. By defining space with reflective textures, the installation creates new, ephemeral connections between static and fluctuating realities, offering a deeper and more complex understanding of the urban environment.
The installation provides spaces for sitting, discreet observation, or play, creating an architecture of conciliation that fosters friendlier interactions and coexistence among different species. Constructed from thin materials and inflated with industrial fans, the design’s cloverleaf configuration encourages movement dynamics, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the urban space.
The installation was realized in Plaza de Carmelita, Altea, on June 4, 2022, as part of the La Nit de l’Art Festival.
