Soosoo Bar, designed by Design Studio Maoom, draws inspiration from the moon’s shadow on a pond, creating a simple and introspective space. Reflecting its name, “soosoo,” meaning pleasant simplicity, the bar features soft lighting, steps, shared tables, and a minimal bar. By avoiding elaborate garnishes, the design emphasizes the crafted drinks and personal reflection, leaving the experience shaped by the bartender’s presentation.

Soosoo Bar draws inspiration from the moon’s shadow reflected in a deep pond. Much like a hazy dream, the dark moon appears both contemplative and illuminating, shrouding its surroundings in a misty veil while heightening sensory awareness.

The bar embodies its name, “soosoo,” which translates to pleasant simplicity. Its design avoids overwhelming the senses, focusing instead on essentials: soft, layered lighting, steps to guide movement, tables for conversation, and a bar as the central feature where the experience unfolds.

The remaining space is purposefully left open for the bartender to define. While alcohol itself remains uniform—whether in beer, wine, or whiskey—it is the drink’s preparation and presentation that influence one’s expectations and perceptions. Soosoo Bar fosters an environment where the absence of elaborate garnishes shifts the focus entirely to the customer and the carefully crafted drinks presented before them.
