Ramp House, a residential project by Architects Corner in Warragul, Australia, was completed in 2015 and wraps around a dam as requested by the clients. The 450 m² house features a distinctive curved form and a 21-meter-long ramp, designed to harmonize with its rural landscape, providing functional spaces that blend seamlessly with the environment while offering expansive views.
This four-bedroom residence is carefully crafted to interact with its rural surroundings, reflecting the scattered elements of the landscape. The curved design creates functional spaces and maximizes natural light, enhancing the home’s connection to the outdoors and offering exceptional views throughout the interior.
The home’s distinctive shape was guided by the client’s desire to have the structure wrapped around the dam on the property. Architects Corner responded to this request by incorporating a 21-meter-long curved concrete ramp, serving as an alternative to an internal staircase and mirroring the building’s contours.
