Pixel, a model room and sales center by SAKO Architects in Beijing, introduces a comprehensive renovation concept for high-rise residential buildings. The flexible “Pixel” design is applied to interiors and exteriors, featuring paper lighting on ceilings and themed model rooms like “POP”. The sales center adopts a “cell” concept, using tubes in white, light grey, dark grey, and black for a layered façade. It includes negotiation and guest rooms, emphasizing luxury and dynamic space. Interior details feature stacked 400 x 400 mm wooden cases for texture, tubular lights bordered with Japanese paper, and flooring that blends outdoor and indoor elements.
The “Pixel” model house concept focuses on comprehensive renovation for a high-rise residential building with a sales center, designed to align with the Skip-Floor Dwelling House structure for ten thousand households.
The “Pixel” concept is flexibly applied to various aspects of both interior and exterior decoration. Ceilings are adorned with paper lighting that complements similar features throughout the design.
The model houses are categorized into four distinct themes, including “POP.”
The Concept of the “Pixel” Sales Center in Beijing
The “Pixel” sales center expands on the overall “cell” concept of “Pixel in Beijing,” building upon the design of the previous sales center.
Appearance
The appearance is formed by an accumulation of separate tubes in four colors: white, light grey, dark grey, and black. These tubes overlap and stack to create a textured, layered effect.
Sales Center Hall
The sales center hall is a crucial component of the overall sales center, encompassing areas such as negotiation rooms and guest rooms. This hall, including the entrance area, is designed to convey a sense of luxury and dynamic space, in harmony with the negotiation rooms.
The interior decoration also embraces the cell concept, with walls featuring stacked wooden cases of varying lengths and gloss, each measuring 400 x 400 mm2, to create a layered and textured effect. The ceiling incorporates 400 x 400 mm2 dropped tubular lighting bordered with Japanese paper. The flooring seamlessly integrates the indoor space with the outdoor landscape, blending exterior elements into the interior.
