Lunet Signature Store, designed by Bogdan Ciocodeica Studio, is a physical extension of the eyewear brand’s online presence in Romania. Known for offering high-quality, affordable eyewear, Lunet’s first brick-and-mortar location emphasizes a seamless, customer-centered experience. The store, with its colorful and playful aesthetic, moves away from traditional sterile eyewear environments, aiming instead to create a welcoming, living-room-inspired space. This design invites both social interaction and personal discovery, integrating mobile curtains and intimate trying stations to provide a relaxed and personalized shopping experience.
Lunet is a brand dedicated to producing affordable eyewear with a strong emphasis on quality and design. Since its launch in 2019, the company has aimed to deliver a seamless and effortless customer experience. Initially operating solely online, Lunet later enhanced its customer engagement through the Home Try On platform, which allowed customers to order and try on eyewear models for free before purchasing, especially during the pandemic period. This shift strengthened the brand’s direct connection with its audience.
As the world emerged from the pandemic into a new reality, the importance of human interaction and connection became even more evident. This shift led to the creation of Lunet’s first signature store, reflecting the brand’s commitment to fostering personal engagement. The space serves as a visual continuation of Lunet’s aesthetic, designed as a playful and colorful environment. It offers an immersive experience, promoting friendly and meaningful interactions while staying true to the brand’s identity.
The design concept focused on creating a warm and welcoming environment where selecting eyewear, a crucial accessory that can redefine facial features, becomes an intimate and relaxed experience. The Lunet Signature Store moves away from the typical austere, clinical atmosphere of traditional eyewear shops. Instead, it offers a familiar, calming space resembling a colorful living room, encouraging both social interaction and personal discovery. The design remains mindful, utilizing only essential elements to maintain simplicity and functionality.
The physical environment of the Lunet Signature Store remains largely untouched, with minimal interventions on the building to avoid unnecessary walls or partitions. Instead of fixed walls, mobile curtains are used to absorb sound and divide the space flexibly. At the center is a lounge area for relaxed conversations, surrounded by eyewear displays. In contrast to the typical perimeter display setup, intimate trying stations, clad in colorful tiles, are designed for multiple customers to try on glasses simultaneously, offering private areas that enhance the personalized, client-focused experience. The interior is vibrant, featuring metallic shimmer and various textures that highlight quality design.
In the relaxation area, the Botolo armchair by Arflex, designed by Cini Boeri in 1973, serves as a central piece, symbolizing timeless design. The store aligns with the brand’s ethos and customer needs, reimagining the eyewear shopping experience by prioritizing emotions and human connection. This creates a memorable and positive experience when purchasing glasses.
