GuiYuShanFang Restaurant designed by July Design Group in Hangzhou’s Guanyun Qiantang complex enhances the city’s skyline alongside the Lotus Bowl and Hangzhou Arch. Located on the third floor of one of the podiums, the restaurant features an elegant arc patio offering multi-layered city views through continuous interior windows. Completed in 2023, the design integrates elements like Shanxi black paving in the foyer, rockeries, springs, and varied private rooms with distinct window views that influence the landscape design.

Hangzhou’s new landmark complex, Guanyun Qiantang, is positioned in the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center on the south bank of the Qiantang River. This complex forms a new city skyline along with the Lotus Bowl and Hangzhou Arch. The GuiYuShanFang Landscape Project is situated on the third floor of one of the two podiums. The restaurant’s outdoor patio opens outward in an elegant arc, offering a multi-layered city view through continuous interior windows.

The entrance features Shanxi black paving to guide guests. Turning a corner, guests encounter magnificent rockeries and springs. Outside the private room is a curved space with different constraints. The interior view frames the exterior partially with raised tatami mats and sofas in front of the windows, while other parts are open to the air. The three window types create three distinct viewing patterns, influencing the landscape design.

The spacious corner aisle allows guests to pause and explore outward. Further ahead, the west side of the medium private room offers views of the Qiantang River and the city skyline.

The corner aisle opens up to the outdoor space, allowing a garden tour. The large private room features intertwined woods and rocks, with stone platform sculptures shaded by trees. Turtle Island and Crane Island are layered with stones.

The tea house is a calm, quiet space emphasizing privacy over the spirituality focus of other areas. The casual guest area features a landscape of giant objects, with mountains and springs at the entrance creating a counterpoint and retelling the overall story.
