A CLT house designed by Hello Wood in the rural landscapes of Hungary seamlessly integrates the natural and built environments using sustainable materials. This architectural marvel acts as both a statement and a sanctuary, embodying design and harmony with nature. Employing innovative techniques like yakisugi and using cross-laminated timber, the structure enhances both durability and aesthetic appeal.

Clt house / hello wood

Hello Wood’s newest CLT house masterfully merges natural and built environments using sustainable materials. Situated in Hungary’s lush rural landscapes, this modern architectural wonder is as enigmatic as it is extraordinary. It is more than a house; it is a declaration, a retreat, and a subtle presence in the woods, significantly expressing design and harmony.

Imagine a residence engaging in a game of hide and seek, nestled within a hill and subtly peeking out to align with the horizon. Its green roof, adorned with natural flora, serves more than aesthetic purposes; it is an active, living part of the landscape. The home extends into a 135 square-meter terrace by the water, making the timber decks prime spots to witness every sunrise and sunset.

The house features two rooms; one includes a living area, a cozy bedroom, a sleek kitchen, and a bathroom characterized by clean lines and understated luxury. The guest room offers a tranquil refuge for visitors to disconnect from their everyday lives.

A summer kitchen connects these spaces, covered and inviting, with a furnace designed like a shark’s fin slicing through the air — a striking sentinel over this haven. The materials speak volumes about the structure’s strength and character, enhanced by cross-laminated timber and a wooden facade finished using the yakisugi method, which brings out a charcoal elegance and ensures longevity and style.

Every detail in this house by Hello Wood is meticulously crafted. The concrete, cast using residual wood, retains the imprint of the timber, adding texture. The expansive glass windows and doors open widely, inviting in the light and landscape.

This house is not merely constructed; it is thoughtfully crafted and curated, a testament to Hello Wood’s dedication to blending architecture with nature. It’s a place destined for creating memories and experiencing tranquility, where the pond’s fish and the nightly stars are your companions. Here, architecture does not just complement nature; it unites with it in a timeless embrace.
