The Broken Pitched Roof House, designed by NKS2 Architects, seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces through five courtyards, a concrete ceiling with skylights, full-height glass walls, and distinct garden atmospheres, creating a harmonious blend with its natural surroundings.
The five courtyards define the open, continuous space of the house. A continuous concrete ceiling, perforated by numerous square skylights, blurs the boundary between the exterior and interior.
The living room features a full-height glass wall, creating a seamless connection to the outside.
The bedroom has a lower outer wall and a wrap-around window, enhancing the sense of openness. A smaller bedroom offers views of the garden, further integrating the natural environment with the interior.
A narrow deck encircles the entire structure, creating a transition to the exterior garden.
