Designed in Braga, Aveleda´s House is a villa designed to accommodate the light as a source of inner experience of housing. The basic idea of the project, parts from the concept of being located in Bracara Augustae, where the ancient Roman houses, the Domus, were built around an internal square. Hence all the subtlety of the house is achieved with a careful distribution.

The Office for Metropolitan Architecture in collaboration with Leigh & Orange Architects has won the competition for the new campus for Chu Hai College of Higher Education in the New Territories in Hong Kong. The campus will give Chu Hai College, established in 1947, a new identity as well as a new site.

The primary goal of this conceptual project is to change the attitude towards living on a houseboat and promote a lifestyle that limits disruption of the environment. Tafoni is spacious, yet compact. Typical houseboats have low ceilings and often feel cramped, which can detract from comfort many residents desire of their homes. In contrast, even though Tafoni has a relatively small floor plate, it is spacious because of the high ceiling and the minimal amount of full-height interior partitions.

Located in Palm Springs, California, the Kaufmann House was originally designed by architect Richard Neutra in 1946. The restoration returned the residence to its initial form, size, and aesthetic integrity.

Donald Wexler, who helped define Palm Springs architecture in the 1960s, will be honored for his contributions to the profession at the three-day Wexler Weekend, Jan. 22-24 in the city where he built his reputation.

The Mapungubwe National Park celebrates the site of an ancient trading civilization in the context of a natural setting. The complex landscape was both the inspiration for the design and the source of the materials for the construction of the new Interpretation Centre, resulting in a composition of structures that are authentically rooted to their location.

A team led by planning, design and engineering firm AECOM has won an international competition for a concept design and feasibility study for Seoul Grand Park in Korea. The winning entry, Gaia: The Living World, envisions an integrated entertainment and educational experience that revitalizes the urban realm and showcases Korean heritage.

The project is a vocational training center for people with emotional problems. By shifting stripe volume one to another, the building will maintain closed facade to its adjacent neighbor while having large opening and transparent view to the front street in dense residential district.

The project is based on developing a system of large, cobbled paving which has a pattern of luminescent lines embedded in it. This creates a faint atmosphere, without lighting the area too much.

The house is situated on the edge of Vianen, a city in the centre of Holland. The view on the southwest side is magnificent and will remain unbuilt. The beautiful view is that of a typical Dutch landscape of open fields with lines of trees.
